First of all, I’m telling you straight: Paris is my favorite city in Europe, and I have seen some! This year I had  the chance to revisit Paris for a few days, five years passed since the last time I’ve been there. And I felt like my love for it was confirmed: I found it even a bit prettier, a bit cleaner and a bit more friendly than before.

As I didn’t have much time to enjoy the best city in Europe, I had full days with hours of walking around, sightseeing, drinking coffee in nice coffee shops and speaking French. I love French language! So I want to take you with me to make the most out of 24 hours in Paris!

Let’s start the day at the base of The Eiffel Tour. It might be a cliché, but trust me I’ve cried when I saw it for the first time. For me it was one of the most popular tourist attraction, so I felt like a miracle seeing it in reality (keep in mind that I was just 19 years old back then), So, a short stop to take some beautiful pictures with the Eiffel Tower and then let’s walk along the Seine river to watch the boats and enjoy some sunshine.

Paris

Second stop: Montmarte and it’s pearl, Sacre Coeur. But it won’t be easy to get there, because we will walk all the way! This is Paris, the one you see behind the big boulevards and monuments. The little streets, the coffee shops, the nice decorations at the windows. Beautiful restored buildings, an old family bakery and some high end fragrance boutiques.

Paris means diversity, so let’s take a break in a café situated at the corner of the street and watch the people. Watch their rush. Try to imagine their story, it’s written in their eyes. Here you can find all the skin tones, all the clothing styles and all the accents. All blended very well together. No one cares where people come from, but they care what are they here for. What are their dreams? You can see a punk rock with tattoos on every inch of his body crossing by the street, followed by the most elegant french woman.

Let’s go further, without a map. Sacre Coeur is on the hill, it won’t be hard to find the way. And here we are, in the heart of Montmartre! Let me show you the house of Van Gaugh! See that little flower? The lady who bought the house always leaves flowers at his window. It’s my favorite neighborhood in Paris, I find it full of mystery, since a lot of artist have started their dreams there. It must be something magical in the air!

Are you ready for some sports now? There are a lot of stairs to climb until the top, but it’s worth every single step. Here we are, this is Sacre Coeur, the beauty! But wait, turn around. Yes, stunning Paris, viewed from above! Now we can rest, take a sit on the grass. Like all the tourists do. Enjoy the view, forget everything and be happy.

Paris

I don’t know know you, but I could stay here for hours. It’s crowded, but somehow quiet and I love the feeling of freedom, being on the top of the hill. But I feel kind of hungry, don’t you? I know a place full of life, where everyone likes to go out in the evening.  It’s called Châtelet, right in the heart of the city. Let’s go, this time we’ll take the metro, I know you’re tired, I am too!

Les Halles. Here is our station. Yes, so many people on the street, the great vibe to start the evening. What would you like to eat? You could actually find everything you want here. Not French at all, but I would enjoy a good ramen soup in a Japaneese restaurant. I tould you I like diversity. But we’ll keep it French and order a bottle of rosé wine.

It’s getting dark now, so let’s go enjoy the last hours of Paris! I propose to go see the Notre Dame Cathedral. Our Lady is so beautiful in the evening. I just can’t stop thinking about the story of the  The Hunchback. Then we’ll walk down the river again, and if you want to buy some unique souvenirs, there are a lot of antiques objects sellers here. They also have books. Last time I bought „Les Miserables”, one of my favorite books. I never read it in French, but feels good to have an old piece on my bookshelf. I wonder how many people have left their tears on the pages of that book. I told you Paris has a lot of mystery, it’s everywhere.

Paris

We’re getting close to the Louvre Museum. Another big monument. It’s nothing impressive on the outside, apart from the new pyramid, but on the inside of this building it’s the whole world! Can you imagine that?

It’s late now and it is closed, but be sure to make some time for it. Maybe an entire day?

Paris

Paris

It started raining, bot don’t worry. Paris is beautiful despite of the weather. Actually, I think is one of the fewest cities in Europe that doesn’t lose it’s beauty when it rains. We’ll pass through Tuilleries Gardens and we’ll get right at the beginning of the Champs Elysees.

Did you enjoy our walk? Paris is magical and now I’ll let you discover it by yourself!

Mi-as dori sa vizitez acest oras, inca nu am ajuns in Franta, dar sper sa am aceasta ocazie.

Frumos Parisul, great people, but i don’t like the language. Sorry! ^_^

  5. Parisul este un loc unde as vrea si eu sa ajung, momentan am fost doar in Strasbourg la nivel de Franta, dar cu ponturile tale, parca trip-ul e mai aproape, 10x 😉

  8. I would love to visit Paris! It’s a beautiful city! And i like the pictures, so i have to go to see all that can be seen.

I just can feel it! 😀
